Grey Hill Grasslands is a unique nature reserve characterized by its ultra-basic serpentinite rock foundation, which creates a rich habitat for diverse plant species. Located in a scenic area, the reserve features species-rich grassland, heath, and mire, supporting rare flora such as the nationally scarce spring sandwort. Juniper can be found cloaking the rocks, adding to the reserve's botanical interest. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting various species throughout the year, with September being the best month for activity. Notable sightings include Oystercatchers and Herring Gulls peaking in May, while species like Sea Campion, Sneezewort, and Buzzard are best observed in September around 1:00 AM. For birdwatchers, the Greater Whitethroat and Mute Swan are best seen in July at dusk, making this reserve a rewarding destination for nature lovers.
