Gailes Marsh is a diverse nature reserve featuring dry coastal grassland, marshland, and a pond, all bordered by mixed woodland. This habitat supports a rich variety of flora and fauna, making it an important ecological site. The species-rich grassland is particularly attractive to butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, with mining bees thriving in the area. Visitors to Gailes Marsh can look forward to spotting a range of wildlife, especially in June when activity peaks. Notable species include the Ringlet and Sedge Warbler, both best observed around 01:00, as well as the Meadow Brown and Common Green Grasshopper. Early morning visits around dawn are ideal for catching sight of Meadow Pipits and European Stonechats, enhancing the experience of this vibrant reserve.
