Forest Wood is a nature reserve characterized by its diverse woodland habitat, located in an area currently experiencing severe damage due to Storm Éowyn. As a result, public access is advised against at this time. The reserve is known for its rich biodiversity, providing a sanctuary for various species of flora and fauna. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species such as Grey Squirrels and Robins, with peak activity noted in January and February respectively, particularly around midnight. Other notable sightings include Long-tailed Tits and Nuthatches, also peaking in January. While the reserve is currently closed, these species typically thrive in the woodlands, making it a worthwhile destination when conditions improve.
