Drummains Reedbed is a coastal reserve featuring reedbed, saltmarsh, and mudflats along the Solway Firth. It is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC), highlighting its ecological significance and rich biodiversity. The varied habitats support a range of wildlife, making it an important area for both conservation and public enjoyment. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildfowl and waders, particularly during the peak months of December and February. Notable species include Starlings and Wigeons, which are best observed around midnight in December, while Oystercatchers and Scaups peak in February. The reserve is also home to Eurasian Curlews and Redshanks, with optimal viewing times in the late afternoon.
