Bemersyde Moss is a Scottish Wildlife Trust nature reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest located in the Scottish Borders, near the River Tweed. This long, narrow strip of habitat features marshlands, willow scrub, and open water, providing essential environments for a variety of wildlife, particularly during the winter months when it attracts large numbers of wildfowl. Visitors can expect to see a range of bird species, with peak activity occurring in February, especially around midnight. Look out for wintering wildfowl such as wigeon and teal, as well as other birds like reed bunting and mallard. The reserve is also home to mammals like otters, which can be spotted year-round, making it a rewarding destination for nature enthusiasts.
