Bankhead Moss is a unique raised bog habitat located in the UK, characterized by its diverse wetland ecosystem. Visitors are advised to keep dogs under control, especially while accessing the site over agricultural fields, to protect the grazing areas. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of species throughout the year, with peak sightings occurring in February, particularly around midnight. Notable species include the Goldeneye and Black-tailed Godwit, both of which are best seen during this peak period. Additionally, October is a great time to spot Red Squirrels, while Ospreys can be observed in August. The reserve offers a rich experience for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.
