Titchwell Marsh is a renowned nature reserve located on the north coast of Norfolk, between Titchwell and Thornham. Spanning 171 hectares, it features a variety of habitats including reed beds, saltmarshes, freshwater lagoons, and a sandy beach. Managed by the RSPB, this internationally important reserve is part of the North Norfolk Coast Site of Special Scientific Interest and the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a vital area for wildlife conservation. Visitors can expect to see a diverse range of bird species throughout the year, with peak sightings in October for Black-winged Stilts and Pied Avocets, particularly around dusk. Other notable species include Bearded Tits, which are best observed at dusk in August, and Bar-tailed Godwits, peaking in December. The reserve is also home to wintering ducks and geese, making it a fantastic destination for birdwatching, especially during the late afternoon when activity is heightened.
