St Bees Head is a stunning headland located on the North West coast of Cumbria, between Whitehaven and St. Bees. It is the only stretch of Heritage Coast along the English coastline between the Welsh and Scottish borders and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This area features dramatic cliffs rising up to 90 metres, offering breathtaking views of the Cumbrian mountains and the sea, with three dedicated viewpoints to observe the largest seabird colony in north-west England. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of seabirds, including Fulmars, Guillemots, and Kittiwakes, particularly during spring and early summer when the Kittiwakes are vocal. For those interested in other species, sightings data indicates that Redshank peaks in January, while Ring Ouzel is best observed in April. The Meadow Cranesbill Weevil can also be spotted in May, making these months ideal for a visit to experience the diverse wildlife at St Bees Head.
