Rockland Marshes is a charming reserve located near Rockland Broad and the River Yare, featuring a diverse landscape of reedbeds, open grazing marshes, wet woodland, and ponds. This small yet rich habitat is accessible via a pushchair and wheelchair-friendly path, making it easy for visitors to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and stunning views of the water. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of species, particularly in June when activity peaks at dusk around 21:00. Notable sightings include Cetti's Warbler, Western Marsh Harrier, and Short-eared Owl, all of which thrive during this time. Additionally, visitors may spot Kingfishers and Great Crested Grebes in spring and summer, while Otters and Water Voles can occasionally be seen along the waterways.
