Otmoor is a serene wetland reserve located in Oxfordshire, nestled between Oxford and Bicester. Spanning nearly 400 hectares, this RSPB reserve features expansive floodplain grazing marshes, hedgerows, and reedbeds, creating a rich habitat for diverse wildlife. It is part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is known for its impressive wildlife spectacles, including a variety of wading birds and songbirds throughout the year. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see species such as the Eurasian Bittern and Western Cattle-Egret, with peak sightings occurring in April and August, respectively. Dusk is the best time for observing many birds, including Cetti's Warbler and Snipe, making evenings particularly rewarding. The reserve is also home to rare species like the Glossy Ibis and Western Marsh Harrier, with notable activity in late summer, especially around dusk.
