North Warren RSPB reserve is a stunning nature reserve located on the Suffolk coast, near Aldeburgh. This diverse habitat features rugged heathland, woodland, reedbeds, and a shingle beach, all within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The reserve is recognized for its ecological significance, holding SSSI and SPA designations, and is home to a variety of wildlife, including notable bird species like the Eurasian Bittern and European Nightjar. Visitors can enjoy excellent birdwatching opportunities throughout the year, with peak sightings of Glossy Ibis in July at dawn and White-fronted Geese in December around 14:00. Spring is particularly vibrant, with breeding Bitterns and Marsh Harriers, while winter evenings offer the chance to witness spectacular Starling murmurations. Look for butterflies and wetland flowers like Ragged Robin and Flag Iris during the warmer months, and keep an eye out for Hobbies hunting dragonflies in summer.
