The Mull of Galloway, located at Scotland's southernmost point in Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, features rolling heathland and steep cliffs overlooking the sea. This RSPB-managed nature reserve is home to diverse seabird colonies, including Guillemots, Razorbills, and Gannets, and boasts one of the last sections of natural coastal habitat on the Galloway coast. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the clifftop trail, with the lighthouse serving as a prominent landmark. Spring and early summer are ideal for observing breeding seabirds and wildflowers, while early autumn offers opportunities to witness migrating songbirds. Notable sightings include Goldfinches and Great Tits peaking in May, and European Pied Flycatchers in October, best seen at dawn. The visitor centre operates from Easter to the end of October, providing a great starting point for your exploration of this stunning reserve.
