Farnham Heath is a stunning heathland reserve located in the Weald, renowned for its vibrant landscapes and diverse habitats. Once a conifer plantation, the area has been restored to support a rich array of wildlife, including Roe Deer and various bird species such as Nightjars and Tree Pipits. The reserve features extensive swathes of heather, which are particularly striking during July and August, creating a colourful tapestry across the landscape. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting Sand Lizards and Adders, especially in April, while the elusive Field Cricket can be heard chirping from April to July. February is the best month for birdwatching, with peak activity around 1:00 AM, offering chances to see Wood Larks and Redpolls. Visit during the summer months for vibrant heather and the chance to see Common Redstarts, which peak in August around 3:00 PM.
