Conwy nature reserve is a transformed wetland habitat located in North Wales, created from material excavated during the construction of the A55 road tunnel. This nature reserve features lagoons, reedbeds, and mixed scrub, making it a vibrant space for wildlife and family adventures. It is a haven for various species and offers a circular trail for visitors, although a section of the Grey Heron Trail will be temporarily closed from September 1 for construction work. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of birds throughout the year, with peak sightings in October. Notable species include Gadwall, Tufted Duck, and Redshank, with the best viewing times around 14:00. Winter afternoons are particularly spectacular as thousands of Starlings gather to roost, creating a stunning murmuration. For those interested in dragonflies and orchids, summer offers a colourful display, while the lagoons attract waders and waterbirds from August to March, especially at high tide.
