Broadwater Warren is a stunning nature reserve located on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells, set within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This area is undergoing significant restoration to revive its historic heathland and woodland habitats, creating a diverse landscape of native woodlands, heathland, and rare woodland mire. The reserve is a haven for wildlife and is particularly noted for its efforts to support threatened species such as the Woodlark and Nightjar. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildlife throughout the year, with peak activity in June when species like the Marsh Tit and Eurasian Wren are best observed at dusk. The summer months also bring out butterflies such as the Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown, particularly in July, while the pond is a hotspot for dragonflies and occasional sightings of Kingfishers. For the best experience, plan visits around early morning or late evening when wildlife is most active.
