Bowers Marsh is a vibrant nature reserve featuring diverse habitats, including grassland, marshland, and lagoons. Located in Essex, this restored grazing marsh offers four miles of nature trails that invite exploration and appreciation of its rich wildlife. The reserve's character is shaped by its bustling lagoon, swaying reedbeds, and dense hedgerows, making it a significant area for both wildlife and visitors. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of species throughout the year, with notable sightings peaking in April, particularly around 1:00 AM. Look out for Oystercatchers, Greylag Geese, and Northern Lapwings during this time. In July, the reserve is alive with Meadow Browns and Black-tailed Godwits, best observed at dusk. For those visiting in January, keep an eye out for Eurasian Bitterns and Cetti's Warblers, with optimal viewing times around 3:00 PM and midnight, respectively.
