Arne is a stunning nature reserve located within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, featuring a diverse mix of heathland, woodland, mudflats, and wetlands. This RSPB reserve is renowned for its rich wildlife, including all six of the UK’s native reptiles, and is particularly important for its lowland heath habitat. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking landscapes and a variety of guided wildlife walks and events throughout the year, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. Wildlife highlights at Arne include the chance to see species such as the Eurasian Spoonbill and Pied Avocet, particularly active in January around 3 PM. Forster's Tern peaks in August, best observed around 11 AM, while Ospreys can be spotted at dusk during the same month. The reserve is also home to a variety of birds year-round, including the White-tailed Eagle, making it a fantastic destination for birdwatching at any time of year.
