Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve, located southeast of Tayport in Fife, Scotland, showcases a diverse range of coastal habitats, including windswept beaches, shifting sands, peaceful lochs, and woodlands. Comprising three distinct sections—Morton Lochs, Tentsmuir Point, and Tayport Heath—this National Nature Reserve (NNR) is managed by NatureScot and offers opportunities for volunteering and outdoor learning, making it a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildlife throughout the year, with peak sightings occurring in April. Look out for red squirrels, which are best spotted around 1:00 AM, and the elusive teal, peaking in January. Other highlights include the gadwall and little egret, both peaking in March, and the kingfisher in May. The reserve's rich biodiversity makes it an exciting place to explore at different times of the year.
