Invereshie and Inshriach National Nature Reserve, located at the edge of the Cairngorm plateau, showcases a diverse range of habitats, from tranquil pinewoods to rugged mountain landscapes. This National Nature Reserve (NNR) is characterized by twisted Krummholz pines and dramatic ice-sculpted slopes, providing a sanctuary for various woodland and upland plants, birds, and wildlife. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and explore a network of tracks and old stalker paths throughout the reserve. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species such as roe deer, which are most active in August around 01:00, and crested tits peaking in July at 11:00. Red squirrels are best spotted in April, also around 01:00, while red crossbills peak in September at 16:00. Other notable sightings include common goldeneye in March at dusk and mistle thrushes in July around noon. The reserve offers year-round opportunities to observe its rich biodiversity through the changing seasons.
