Hermaness National Nature Reserve, located at the northern tip of Britain, is a remarkable haven for wildlife, featuring stunning breeding grounds for Scotland's iconic seabirds. This National Nature Reserve is managed collaboratively by NatureScot, Shetland Islands Council, and VisitScotland, ensuring that visitors can enjoy its natural beauty while protecting its delicate ecosystems. Recent enhancements, including a new recycled plastic boardwalk and improved visitor facilities, have made exploring this unique landscape even more accessible. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of species throughout the year, with peak sightings of European Golden-Plover in June around 10:00 AM and Northern Fulmar in November at 2:00 PM. April is an exciting month for birdwatchers, as Great Skua and Atlantic Puffin sightings peak, with the best viewing times around 4:00 PM and 3:00 PM, respectively. July is particularly vibrant, showcasing Northern Wheatear, Common Snipe, and Twite, all best observed around 2:00 PM.
