Corrie Fee National Nature Reserve (NNR) is a stunning area renowned for its rare arctic and alpine plants, set within a magnificent natural amphitheatre formed by Corrie Fee, Corrie Sharroch, and the slopes of Craig Rennet. This reserve features a diverse range of habitats, including the most extensive natural stand of montane willow scrub in Scotland, making it a vital area for various wildlife species adapted to harsh mountain conditions. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for red squirrels, particularly active in March, and various bird species like the red kite and red crossbill, which peak in February. June is an excellent time to spot the bilberry bumblebee, while the great spotted woodpecker is best observed in July. With its rich biodiversity, Corrie Fee offers year-round interest, but March stands out as the best month for wildlife sightings, especially around 10:00 AM.
