Ben Wyvis National Nature Reserve (NNR) features a stunning upland landscape characterized by its flat ridge and diverse habitats. Located in Easter Ross, Scotland, this reserve is renowned for its iconic species such as ptarmigan and dotterel, which thrive in the harsh conditions of the mossy summit plateau. The area is managed to protect its unique ecology, making it a significant site for conservation. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for a variety of species, particularly in November when several plants and animals peak in activity, including Alpine Lady's-mantle and Red Grouse. The best time for sightings is around midnight, making late-night visits particularly rewarding. Additionally, July offers opportunities to spot Common Frogs, while December is ideal for observing Cowberry.
