Golshane Farm is a privately owned reserve located in north County Meath, near the Cavan border. This idyllic landscape features rolling hills and hedgerows, and is actively managed for wildlife. The farm is dedicated to enhancing habitats for native species, with initiatives such as planting new hedgerows, creating wetlands, and establishing fields of oats and kale to support wild birds. Although not open to the public without an appointment, educational workshops and open days are planned for the future. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to a rich diversity of bird life at Golshane Farm, including familiar species like robins and wrens, as well as snipe, woodcock, buzzards, and kestrels. Daily sightings of buzzards, noted for their distinctive mewing calls, highlight their presence in the area. The farm also supports mammals such as foxes, stoats, and various native bats.
