Dinefwr Estate National Nature Reserve
Dinefwr Park National Nature Reserve spans 800 acres (320 ha) near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, owned by the National Trust. This estate features a central mansion and is dominated by the historic Dinefwr Castle, a landmark of the ancient Deheubarth kingdom. Recognised as a grade I Historic Park and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it offers a rich blend of history and natural beauty. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of species, particularly in January when sightings peak for birds like the Robin, Long-tailed Tit, and Little Egret. March is another active month, with notable appearances from Buzzards, Mallards, and Mute Swans. Early mornings around midnight are the best times for observing these birds, making Dinefwr a rewarding destination for nature lovers throughout the year.
