Cors Caron National Nature Reserve

Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, located in Ceredigion, Wales, is a remarkable raised bog covering approximately 349 hectares (862 acres). It is celebrated as the most intact surviving example of a raised bog landscape in the UK, supporting around 44 different species groups, including a diverse array of land and aquatic plants, fish, insects, crustaceans, lichen, fungi, terrestrial mammals, and birds. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting species such as the Large Heath butterfly, Robins, and Wrens, particularly peaking in July during the early hours around 01:00. Other notable sightings include Mallards in January, Canada Geese in March, and various birds like Buzzards and Great Spotted Woodpeckers in the autumn months. The reserve is a vibrant habitat throughout the year, with peak activity times providing excellent opportunities for observation.
