Cors Bodeilio National Nature Reserve

Cors Bodeilio National Nature Reserve is located in a shallow valley near Talwrn on the Isle of Anglesey, featuring a rare lime-rich mire habitat that is nationally significant. This wetland area supports a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the medicinal leech and several nationally local or rare plant species such as fen pondweed, dwarf stonewort, and various orchids. The reserve is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Ramsar site, and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). For wildlife enthusiasts, February is the prime month to visit, with notable bird sightings including House Sparrows, Buzzards, and Ravens peaking around midnight. Other species such as Chaffinches and Great Tits are best observed in January, while the vibrant Purple-loosestrife can be spotted in July. The reserve's rich biodiversity offers a unique opportunity to experience both common and rare species throughout the year.
