Coed Cymerau National Nature Reserve

Coed Cymerau National Nature Reserve is a picturesque 26-hectare woodland located on the north side of the Vale of Ffestiniog, featuring the serene River Goedol running through it. The reserve primarily consists of native broadleaved woodland and dense undergrowth, with a single path traversing the forest. Adjacent to it is Coed Cymerau Isaf, owned by the Woodland Trust, enhancing the area's natural beauty and biodiversity. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of species, particularly in February when activity peaks, especially around midnight. Notable sightings include the Green Hoar-moss and various pincerworts, which thrive during this time. Other species, such as the Hazel Leaf-roller and Birch Shieldbug, can be spotted in September and October, respectively, making each season a unique experience for visitors.
