Lady Park Wood National Nature Reserve

Lady Park Wood National Nature Reserve is a 45-hectare site located on the borders of Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire, primarily in Wales. It lies within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of the Upper Wye Gorge Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the River Wye Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Managed by the Forestry Commission, the reserve is a vital area for woodland conservation and research, with access primarily via recognised rights of way. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of species, particularly in May when activity peaks. Notable sightings include the Canada Goose and various fungi, with the best observation times around 01:00. Other species such as the Robin and Moorhen are best spotted in February, while Wrens are more prevalent in June. The reserve's diverse habitats make it a rewarding destination for nature lovers throughout the year.
